How to change the settings for my live event

This feature requires an Advanced or Premium plan, or an Enterprise plan with the Events feature added.

This article explains how to select and update settings for your live event within the web-based production tool. Each section below highlights which settings can be changed from the settings menu.

Opening the settings menu

The settings menu is located in the top-right corner of the web-based studio and is represented by a gear. This will expand the settings panel on the right of your screen.

Basics

You can change the following in the basic settings pane: 

• Title of your event
• Description: The description of the live event. The description will appear on your event page on ZenVideo.

Privacy

You can change the following settings in the Privacy pane: 

• Link privacy: Change the privacy setting of your link. Read about the different types of privacy settings at About privacy settings for live events
• Embed privacy: Change the embed privacy setting for your event and select where your event can be embedded online.
• Content rating: Content ratings are required. They help keep ZenVideo safe and ensure your intended audience can view your video. Read more at Content ratings.
  • Additionally, indicate whether the stream or videos within the stream contain advertisements. 

Schedule

• Select the start and end dates and times for your event.
• Select the time zone in which your event is being held. Viewers will see their corresponding local times based on their locations.
• Select whether your event is recurring and specify the recurring dates. 

Production

• Choose the latency for your event.
• Toggle the Automatic closed captions on or off.
  • Add keywords in advance to assist in automatic speech detection (e.g., products, names, and terms that will be mentioned during your event).
• Toggle recording on or off.
  • Recorded events are stored in your Library for you to view on demand later.
  • If recording is disabled for a recurring event, none of your future streams will be archived.
• Toggle  DVR on or off.
  • Viewers can watch in real time or pause and rewind to catch up during the live event.

Registration

• Turn registration on or off for your event.
• Customize the registration form or apply a preset registration form. 

Destination

• Customize the live event player
• Choose simulcasting destinations for your event
