How do I start and end a live stream on OTT?

When you are ready to start your event, simply go live in your encoding software or via the Web-Based Browser, and your stream will start on OTT. If you have enabled Notify Followers an email will go out notifying your subscribers your event is now live.

Starting a live stream

To start your stream via RTMP:

1. Go Live in your Encoding Software and start your stream
2. Your stream should start playing on OTT within 30 seconds

To start your stream via Web-Based Studio:

1. Navigate to the General tab of the event
2. Click the blue button Visit web-based studio
3. You will be taken to ZenVideo.com’s Web-Based Studio
4. Start your Stream

Ending a live stream

Once you are done live streaming, click End Event in the live event setup panel and end the stream in your encoder. 

If you end your event in your encoding source but do not click the End Event button in OTT, the stream will continue to retry connecting to the encoding source for five minutes before ending the event and kicking off the transcoding process. 

Once your ZenVideo Event transcodes to a VOD, it will appear in Content > Videos. If you selected the stream to be 24/7 there will be no VOD.

If you had enabled Preview mode, your VOD would not include the part of the stream while the setting was enabled.
