Using a .csv file, video owners and event hosts can outline which regions their video or live event should be visible in or blocked from. This article discusses how to format your .csv file.

Formatting your .csv file for geoblocking/geoallowing

You can import a .csv file to set your allowed or blocked locations. You can only import one type of location data per CSV file. This means that you can import location data using Country/Region/State/City (US Cities Only), OR you can import location data using US ZIP Codes.

You cannot combine both types of location data in the same CSV file. Currently, city-level blocking and allowing is only supported within the US for US Cities only.

To format your .csv file:

Format your .csv file according to the following guidelines:

Header Row: The first row must contain the following headers (case-insensitive):

MODE
COUNTRY
REGION
CITY
ZIP CODE

MODE Column: Specify whether to "allow" or "block" access for each location. Use the values:
- allowed
- blocked
Location Data Columns:
- For Country/Region/State/City Imports:
  - COUNTRY: Use the two-letter ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code. Read more from the International Organization for Standardization at ISO 3166
  - REGION: Use the ISO 3166-2 region code (if applicable).
  - CITY: Enter the US city name. Currently, city-level blocking and allowing is only supported within the US for US Cities only.
  - ZIP CODE: Leave this column empty.
- For US ZIP Code Imports:
  - COUNTRY & REGION, CITY: You can leave these columns empty.
  - POSTAL CODE: Enter the 5-digit US ZIP code. The United States Postal Service's Zip Code Lookup can help you find Zip Codes. Enter one zip code per line.
File Encoding: Save your CSV file using UTF-8 encoding to ensure proper character handling.

Importing your .csv file

After formatting your .csv file, you can import it into the Manage regional availability window in your video’s settings page or your live event’s settings.

Team Owners, Admins, and Contributor + team members can set the regional availability for a video or live event through the ZenVideo website. This process does not work on the ZenVideo mobile apps.
