Below are some common questions users often ask about creating and editing videos with ZenVideo.

How long can I make my video?

You can create videos up to 120 minutes in length using the desktop client and up to 10 minutes on mobile. 

I don’t see a template for my kind of business, what do I do?

Although our collection of templates is always growing, there may not be a template specifically for your business. All of our templates are customizable and depend highly on the footage and music you select.
We recommend choosing a template from an industry close to yours (e.g., if you’re a cleaning company, select one of the “Services” templates) and customize from there. You’ll have the chance to edit out any footage or stock images that don’t fit your business. 

I got an error saying "There was an unexpected error, and this video failed to render. Please try again." What do I do?

First, try saving your video once more. If this does not work, contact Support for further assistance. You can also recreate your video from scratch - duplicating the video may not solve the issue. 

Can I make a video on ZenVideo and then embed the video on my website to promote my business, even though it uses stock footage?

All stock videos and images available on ZenVideo can be used for any videos you make using the tool and distributed through ZenVideo. This includes embeds and videos shared on social through our Publish to Social feature. 

Should I use a template or make my own video from scratch?

This is up to you. Each has its advantages. Our customizable templates allow you to piece together a video relatively quickly while still letting you insert your own elements (footage, images, copy, and more). Creating your own lets you execute a specific vision and is a great option if you know exactly what you’d like to do. 

I keep getting an error message when I'm trying to customize templates. Why is this happening? 

It's possible that a browser extension (such as AdBlock) is interfering with the template customization process. Try disabling the extension, or using the template in incognito mode or in another browser that does not have the extension enabled. If you're still seeing this issue, please reach out to us and we'll help you troubleshoot. 

I received a music copyright notice when sharing to YouTube. What do I do?

Soundtracks in the stock music library are licensed for commercial use.

Videos can be posted to social media (Facebook, YouTube, etc.) without a problem as long as they are shared directly from ZenVideo using our Publish to Social feature. This feature has an automatic mechanism of whitelisting the tracks once the videos are posted to social media directly from ZenVideo.

What font and text editing limitations exist in the video maker?

The default font is Gothic.

You can add up to 20 text boxes per scene.

Each text box can support up to 100 alphanumeric characters.

You can make a line break by pressing the Enter or Return key on your keyboard.

With a Standard, Advanced, Business, Premium, or Enterprise account, you may upload a custom font.

How do I generate captions for my video? 

ZenVideo offers automatic closed captioning to all paid members for videos uploaded after May 25, 2022. Your video will be automatically transcribed by our system during the transcoding process. In some cases, captions may take up to an hour to generate. 
If your video was made prior to May 25, 2022, re-uploading your video will generate automatic closed captions. Read more at Captions and subtitles. You can also add caption or subtitle files once your video has rendered, just like you would with a uploaded ZenVideo video.
