Occasionally, your viewers may see the following error messages instead of chat, poll, and Q&A capabilities. This article discusses how to troubleshoot these error messages.

When viewers click the chat icon during your event and see the error message "Engagement tools are not available here because of privacy," it's because the privacy settings are blocking access to chat. To fix this, you'll need to update your privacy settings.

To change your event’s privacy settings:
- Visit the event’s page.
- Select the settings gear icon at the top right of the page to open the Settings menu.
- Select the Privacy header to expand the privacy settings.
- Use the dropdown menus to change your event's privacy settings.
If the event needs to be private, ensure that your team members have access to the folder where it is stored.
