How can I moderate Q&A for a live event?

This feature requires an Enterprise plan with the Events feature added.

ZenVideo Enterprise members can host Q&A sessions during live events. Members can moderate incoming questions to ensure only appropriate inquiries are published and addressed.

How to set up Q&A moderation 

You can set up Q&A moderation using the web-based production tool. 

To set up Q&A moderation: 

1. Select the Q&A button on the left-side toolbar of the web-based production tool.
   
2. There are two toggles in the menu. Select them based on how you want to moderate Q&A:
   • Moderate questions: Allows you to preview questions and decide which questions will be visible to the audience, 
   • Allow anonymous questions: Allows your audience to ask questions without having their name attached to the question,
3. Select Start Q&A to display the Q&A panel on your ZenVideo event.

How to moderate Q&A during your event

After starting the Q&A, two or three tabs will display in the Q&A menu: Review (based if you have moderate questions selected), Approved, and Archived.

To moderate your Q&A during your event: 

1. If you have moderation settings turned on, all questions will appear in the Review tab of the Q&A menu. 
2. Hover over each question to display the Archive and Approve buttons. 
   • If you approve of the question and would like to display it to your audience, select the approve button represented by the checkmark. The question will be moved to the Approved tab.
     
   • If you disapprove of the question and do not like to display it to your audience, select the archive button represented by the folder with a down arrow. The question will be moved to the Archived tab.
     

💡Tip: Did you miscategorize a question? If it was an approved question, select the overflow menu (⋮) and select Archive. If it is an Archived question, hover over it and select the Unarchive button in the top-right corner. 

How to answer moderated Q&A during your event. 

Questions you approved for your event will appear in the Active tab of the Q&A menu. 

To answer questions: 

1. Select the Approved tab. 
2. Select the overflow menu (⋮) and select Show on Scene. This displays a graphic overlay of the question with the name of the viewer who asked (or anonymous) and the number of votes.
   
   
3. Select Hide to hide 

You and other event moderators can also directly reply to questions within the Q&A panel.
