Creating a featured carousel on ZenVideo OTT

The featured carousel is a way to highlight your content in a larger visual manner by creating a category that contains the work you want to spotlight. You can have up to 20 items in your featured carousel. You can only feature one category on your site.

How do I create a featured carousel?

1. First, create a category if you haven't already done so. 
2. Next, click the Categories header on the Content page. Select the category you wish to feature and the edit panel will slide out
   
3. Under the Discovery tab of the panel, navigate to Featured and check the Feature this category checkbox.
   
   
4. You can also select Automatically cycle if you want the carousel to cycle through each item automatically. 
   ⚠️Note: If you add content to your featured carousel, we recommend uploading a featured image on the videos in the category to prevent possible distortion of your video's default thumbnails.
5. Under the Distribution tab and make sure the Visibility is set to Published.
6. Be sure to save all your changes.

On your site, you will see the featured carousel displayed at the top of the page.

💡Tip: If your OTT account is on a Growth or Enterprise plan, you can also use the featured carousel to promote a Live PPV event.

How to choose the aspect ratio for your carousel

Follow these steps to select the aspect ratio for your featured carousel:

1. In your OTT admin, navigate to your featured category from Content > Categories.
2. Within the Discovery menu, find the Mobile App Category appearance section.
3. Select from Default or Vertical options.
   
4. Once you’ve made your selection, save your changes and upload custom assets.

How to choose the mobile featured category layout

Follow these steps to select the mobile featured category layout for your featured carousel:

1. In your OTT admin, navigate to your featured category from Content > Categories.
2. Within the Discovery menu, find the Mobile App Category appearance section.
3. Select from Card Style or Full Width. These styles only appear on the mobile app, TV and web will always display full width.

Featured thumbnail videos
