How can I add a membership subscription to my OTT site?

Membership subscriptions help create an additional subscription product at a higher price point, allowing you to offer something extra to your most engaged fans. The product grants viewers the same content access as your base subscription tier to provide additional non-ZenVideo sponsored benefits to the viewer such as merch, additional digital benefits, discounts to events, etc.

The Membership Subscriptions feature is only available to OTT Enterprise sellers as a paid add-on. Reach out to your Account Manager or the OTT Sales team to get access to membership subscriptions.

How can I enable my membership subscription?

Once the Membership has been enabled for your site, you are ready to create your Membership Tier subscription product. 

1. Visit your ZenVideo OTT Admin panel.
2. Navigate to Products > All Products.
3. Click + Create Product
4. A modal will pop up, click on Paid Subscription
   
   
   
5. You will then be taken through the process of creating the subscription, first landing on the Settings tab where you can set:
   • Title - Set a name for the Subscription. This will appear on the Plans page and Checkout page.
   • Description - Use the description to explain to the viewer what is included in the subscription with their content access. This will be shown on the Plans page and the Checkout page. 
     • If you have a translated version of your product title and description, click Add translations, select the language(s), and type in the translation. These translations will appear for users who select the corresponding language anywhere on your site, including the checkout page.
     • Make sure you’ve enabled translations in your site settings for this to work.
   • Thumbnail - Provide a 16:9 ratio image (3840 x 2160 pixels works best) to represent your Subscription. This is the image that will appear in customer emails, trailers, Facebook, and X when you share your website, and on your website.
   • Click on Include subscriber badge if you want a badge to display for users who purchase the Membership subscription on their Account Settings page and next to comments the user can leave on the web. You can control the background and text color of the badge.
     

6. Content tab- All content access will be inherited from your basic subscription tier. Membership tier subscribers have access to the same content as the base tier. On this page, you can set a trailer specific to the Membership.  

7. Pricing tab- Monthly pricing is greyed out and is not supported on the Membership.

   • Yearly Recurring Price - Yearly price must be higher than the yearly price on your base subscription.
   • Free trials -  Free Trials are not supported on the Membership subscription.
   • International pricing - Pricing in the various currencies we offer natively to your viewers. Read more about international pricing on your ZenVideo OTT subscription or product.

   8. Distribution tab

   • Distribution regions - Choose if viewers should be able to purchase anywhere in the world or just in specific regions.
   • Custom email receipt message - Draft an email that will go out to all Membership subscribers when they purchase a subscription. 

   9. Click the blue Publish button at the top right of the page. Your Membership subscription will now be available for purchase.
