Sales tax and Value-Added Tax (VAT) for ZenVideo On Demand purchases

Whether you pay tax on ZenVideo On Demand purchases depends on where you are. 

ZenVideo charges Value-Added Tax (VAT) or GST (goods and services tax) on VOD sales made to purchasers in the following VAT- or GST-collecting countries:

Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Colombia, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, United States, and Uzbekistan.

Purchasers located in the above countries see VAT- or GST-inclusive pricing, meaning that their local tax rate will automatically be deducted from the prices you set (VAT and GST will not be added separately to the listed prices on your VOD). So, a purchaser will not see VAT listed separately during checkout — the appropriate tax amount will simply be deducted from the proceeds of the sales. You can Google "VAT rate [country]" or "GST rate [country]" to determine each country's rate. If you're anticipating a large percentage of your buyers to come from VAT- or GST-collecting countries, you may want to consider factoring that into the price you set. 

ZenVideo manages all VAT and GST collection and remittance so you don’t have to worry about doing this. ZenVideo will calculate your revenue share (Net Revenue) based on the proceeds exclusive of VAT. In other words, the VAT and GST do not count towards your revenue. ZenVideo deducts the VAT- and GST-exclusive proceeds, the transaction costs of the sale, and the ZenVideo service fee (10%) from your Gross revenue to determine the Net revenue you are paid.
