Why is the Chromecast or Airplay button missing?

Video creators may choose to turn off the ability for their viewers to cast videos via Chromecast or AirPlay. If you are not seeing the options to cast on a video, this means the video owner has disabled them. 

This feature can be customized in the video player settings.
