Your ZenVideo OTT Branded Apps will reflect how you lay out your site using Categories, Collections, and the various row-level customizations available to curate, customize, and arrange your content. Your viewers will spend the majority of their time in your Apps exploring your library and watching your content.
However, before viewers open your app, they will need to locate it in the app stores and on their devices. You can customize the look and feel of your app from its discovery on an app store listing, through its daily use.
This article explains the brand graphics that you can provide to our team to customize your apps, along with industry best practices to get you started. The brand graphics you choose can help your apps appear unique, engaging, and consistent with your web product and wider brand identity.

Brand logo
Your logo should be striking, simple, and eye-catching. You should always aim to have a unique brand logo. Don't try to copy established brands.
Your Logo can be used in a few different places in your app:
- On the App Icon
- In the top accent bar on mobile Explore screens
- In the navigation sidebar on TV Explore screens
- On the Splash
- On the Login Gate
- On the Settings screen
💡 Best Practice: Provide a logo with a variety of footprints and colors so it is legible in any context.
Minimum Logo dimensions: 1024 x 1024 px. Recommended Logo dimensions: 2000 x 2000 px or scalable vector format.
App icon
Your app icon is one of the first things your viewers see, appearing on viewers’ devices as well as the top of app store listings.
- Keep your icon simple. Your app icon may be different from your overall brand logo!
- Use little or no text. Text can be hard to read on small icons or from the couch.
- Some app platforms require your app icon logo to include your full app name. Our team may request icon variations to meet these requirements.
- Use recognizable iconography or brand marks.
💡 Best Practice: Keep your Mobile App Icon simple, avoiding text and thin fonts if possible.
💡 Best Practice: Include your App Name on TV App Icons, but keep the design simple enough to read from the couch.
Minimum Icon dimensions: 1024 x 1024 px for mobile apps, 1280 x 768 px for TV apps. Recommended Icon dimensions: 2000 px wide or scalable vector format.
Vizio apps require icons in a scalable vector format.
Theme
Your mobile apps can launch in a Light or Dark theme. Keep in mind that your viewers will have the choice to switch to their preferred theme, so consider the look of both options.
App colors
Your brand colors represent your organization. Think about colors that will contrast well both within the overall app experience and against your logo.
You can select a color for:
- Top accent bar on mobile Explore screens (Light & Dark theme)
- Navigation sidebar on TV Explore screens
- Buttons
Within your ZenVideo OTT app suite, font colors cannot be customized. They will be either black or white, depending on the background, to ensure accessibility and legibility.
💡 Best Practice: White or black can blend in with the background and hide important buttons. Choose at least one contrasting brand color.
Splash screen
Your splash displays briefly while the app loads. Usually, a viewer only has a second or two to view the splash screen—simple, distinctive designs with a centered logo or expressive imagery work well on a splash.
The splash screen will display full screen on a wide variety of device shapes, like phones, tablets, and TVs.
💡 Best Practice: Keep important logos and subjects towards the center of the canvas, or provide splash options for each dimension.
Mobile Splash dimensions:
- 2048 x 2732 px (3:4) for tablet in portrait orientation,
- 2732 x 2048 px (4:3) for tablet in landscape orientation.
- Phones and 16:9 tablets will be cropped down from the tablet splash.
TV Splash dimensions:
- 1920 x 1080 px (HD) or 3840 x 2160 (4K)
Login gate
The login gate appears after the splash screen the first time users open your app, or whenever they attempt to access content or features that require an account. Most users will only see this screen once, at the moment they convert from an interested user to a member of your audience.
Some ideas to consider when designing your login gate:
- Showcase the breadth of your library with a grid of thumbnails.
- Reinforce your brand logo with complementary colors.
- Remember that the primary goal of your Login Gate is conversion! Communicate the value of your offering and keep the emphasis on the call-to-action button.
Mobile Login Gate dimensions:
- 2048 x 2732 px (3:4) for tablet in portrait orientation,
- 2732 x 2048 px (4:3) for tablet in landscape orientation.
- Phones and 16:9 tablets will be cropped down from the tablet Login Gate.
- Mobile Login Gate backgrounds will be overlaid with a dark or light gradient, depending on theme, to ensure accessibility and legibility.
TV Login Gate dimensions:
- 1920 x 1080 px (HD) or 3840 x 2160 (4K)
