How do I upload or select media for my video in the ZenVideo mobile apps?

Access to the Stock library is available with a Standard, Advanced, Pro, Business, Premium, or Enterprise account. Users on Free and Starter accounts who joined before July 17, 2024, also have access to the Stock library. Compare plan features at 'Compare ZenVideo plans'

You can upload or select videos or photos to use as footage in the Create app for Android and iOS or the ZenVideo Android app and ZenVideo iOS app.

Create supports these file formats:

• Video: 3GP, AVI, MOV, MP4, MPG, MTS, M2TS
• Photo: JPG, JPEG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, PNG

You can upload photos and videos from your mobile device, use stock footage, select media from Google Photos, or record live footage from your device's camera or screen (iOS only). 

In this article:

Add a new scene with photos or videos:

Follow these steps to add a new scene with photos or videos:

1. In the editor, select the New Scene button to the left of the timeline. It has a circle with a white 'plus sign' in the middle.
   💡Tip: You can enter the video editor by tapping the blue rectangle on the app's homepage and selecting "Create video." 
2. Select Photos & Videos.

This will open the media menu where you can select the source for your footage. 

Add media from your Camera Roll:

To upload media from your camera roll:

1. Select “Camera Roll” to choose images from your image gallery. 
2. Select the Camera icon to take a live photo or video from your device. 
3. iOS Only: Select Record Screen to record your device’s screen. 
   💡Tip: Everything on your screen, including notifications, will be recorded while recording your device's screen. Enable Do Not Disturb to prevent unexpected notifications. 
   
   
   ⚠️Note: If you have not previously given the Create app permission to access your photos on your device, you will need to. 

• Android: Read further from Google Support at Change app permissions on your Android phone
• iOS: Read further from Apple Support at ‘Control access to information in apps on iPhone’/‘Control access to information in apps on iPad’. 

Add Stock media:

1. Select Stock from the 'Add photos and videos' menu. 
2. Select between Videos or Photos. 
3. Enter keywords into the search box to easily filter through the stock library or scroll through the available categories. 
4. Select and hold the video thumbnail to preview it. Select a hold a photo thumbnail to enlarge it. 
5. Select which stock footage you'd like to add. 
6. Select Done to add them to your video. Each photo or video will be added to your storyboard as a new scene. 

Add Google Photos: 

You can connect your Google Photos account and access the videos and photos saved there to add to your video. 

This feature is currently only available on the ZenVideo apps for Android devices. 

⚠️Note: Google Photos requires some time to fully process uploaded videos with additional time added for longer videos. If your video or photo is not fully uploaded and processed in Google Photos, it will result in a lower-quality image when added to your Create video.

To add footage from Google Photos:

1. 1. Select “Google Photos” in the media upload menu. 
      • If you have not previously done so, you will need to “Connect to Google Photos” to access your Google Photos library.
   2. Log in to your Google Photos account and grant the required permissions to allow Create to access your files.
   3. Once access has been granted, you can view the photos and videos stored in your Google Photos account.

Add footage from your previously uploaded media:

You can also select media from your prior uploads to your ZenVideo account: 

To select previously uploaded footage: 

1. Select Uploads from the media upload menu. 
2. Select the footage you'd like to use in your video.
3. You can also filter between the following:
   • Media: Uploaded Media (photo or video clips) or ZenVideo Videos (videos you've uploaded to ZenVideo). 
   • Type of media: Photos or Videos.
   • Your media's format: Portrait, Landscape, or Square.
4. Select Done to add your selected files to your storyboard.
