What’s the difference between ZenVideo impressions and third-party impressions?

Using the ZenVideo player allows you to take advantage of advanced analytics that are recorded through the player. When the ZenVideo player is not utilized (for example, using direct file links to play hosted videos in other players), advanced analytics tracking is not accessible through ZenVideo.

As of August 7, 2024, ZenVideo analytics will separate the counts of impressions and views from those generated by the ZenVideo player and videos distributed on third-party players. Previously, impressions from third-party players were included in the Impressions metric, and view counts from third-party players were estimated based on these impressions.

Now, you will see a new metric called Third-party impressions in your Analytics Reports, which is the total count of impressions from videos loaded in third-party players using direct file links. Impressions and Views will only count analytics from the ZenVideo player as of August 7, 2024.

Third-party impressions can be viewed and downloaded in Analytics reports, as well as accessed through the Analytics API.
